"WONDERLAND" - TRIXIE 2021 Ready to Wear Collection

Covid-19 is a disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (sars-cov-2) virus. This disease causes respiratory system disorders which have been known throughout the world in large numbers, thus becoming a pandemic. This pandemic limits humans from carrying out normal activities so that people feel bored and depressed. The pandemic period seems to restrain every individual so that they cannot move freely in their life. Therefore, this collection was created with a depiction of an atmosphere of peace and freedom. The theme of this collection is 'WONDERLAND', in accordance with the description of a world of freedom that is coveted by people who feel constrained by the pandemic. The style used is a combination of feminine romantic and classic elegance with a dominant neutral color that represents the tranquility of nature.

Tell us about the development process that culminated in the artist you are today.

Since I was young, my creative soul ignites with full of joy when it comes to making art. Starting from kindergarten, knowing that drawing is my hobby, my school and my supportive parents often made me participate in drawing competitions. As I grew into a teenager, I realized that designing clothes was my passion. Which made me decide to enroll as a fashion product design and business (FPD) student at Ciputra University. From here, my talents and abilities began to develop. A lot of new insights and ideas were given to me in creating a work that sticks in my heart which I am proud to show to the whole world. But all the teachings and experiences that I have gained so far is not enough in exploring my creativity. Therefore, I will keep learning and continue to create beautiful works as an overflowing expression of my creative soul.

What kind of impact do you hope to make in the fashion world?

From both of my current and future works. I hope that everyone can feel comfortable, free, and love themselves in practicing various types of fashion styles regardless of other people's opinions because everyone has their own uniqueness and characteristics.

How would you describe your work to someone who has never seen it? Is there any message you would like your photos to convey?

My work is dominated by feminine romantic and classic elegance styles with a neutral color palette and full of colors with soft tones. For now, my work is not fully explored yet, but I will create a more unique and innovative work in the future. The purpose of this project is to send a message that even though we are confined in this dark pandemic world, our souls and mindsets must remain free. Free to express ourselves, free to do what makes us happy, and free to explore ourselves in optimizing our quality as a human being.

How do you keep yourself productive and retain your creative edge?

By prioritizing long-term goals while achieving short-term goals. My long-term goal is the main reason I am still where I am today. As a human being, we can not guarantee that everything will run 100% smoothly. Life is like a bumpy road, there is always ups and downs. By focusing on our long-term goals and ideals while keep learning and improving in the process, then whatever we do can produce optimal result. If we love what we do, we will enjoy the entire process despite all the obstacles.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever gotten and do you follow it?

I am a person who is easily disappointed by my work when it does not match my expectations. One day, I got an advice "if you are not proud of your work, it means you have not given your best". Since then, I have always held on to that advice as an encouragement to always give my best in every work that I do. I understand that having errors or deficiencies in our work is common since we are just imperfect living beings. But it all depends on how we choose to cope with it, and I choose to always learn from my mistakes and keep improving to be able to deliver my best potential.

If you could say one thing to someone younger who looks up to you, what would you say?

Always develop the quality of yourself, do not give up, and dream as high as possible. For me, there are no dream that is too high to achieve. It all dependes on our effort and prayer to achieve our dream. If you can dream it, you can do it.

What does life look like for you now and where do you see yourself in the future?

As a teenager who is still unstable, I honestly still see the world as a plain white canvas, still blurry and unclear. Believing that we design our own life, I started designing the images that I was going to create and painting new colors on this plain canvas. With various experiences that I will go through, I believe that in the future this plain canvas will be full of beautiful colors that are meaningful to myself and others.

What exciting new project should we expect from you in the future?

I will continue to make interesting and innovative projects which will certainly be better than the current project. I will continue develop my work to the fullest while exploring my creative spirit even deeper.
