Once again, Lumiere Runway by Meler Productions has given us the opportunity to see Fashion at its best at their fashion show. The event happened in Los Angeles on February 12th as a way to celebrate New York Fashion Week, and they did it in the best way possible! We got to see different approachs of design and styling on the runway as we watched the latest collections of five great brands: Verita Couture, Smock Me, High Status Co., Jonathan Marc Stein Atelier and Alien Earth Design. And everything gets even better when we get to have fun while also doing our part, so it’s great to know that five percent of all proceeds from the event went to the local charity Kaimore, which works to empower at-risk and high-risk youth and young adults.

To take you deeper on this great event with us, we have especific comments about each collection, so let’s get into it.

Verita Couture

It’s not our first time watching Verita Couture’s show, but it’s safe to say we love it more and more each time. The brand designer, Tiffany W., says she wants to empower women through her designs, ans that’s exactly what we see on this collection: shiny clothes that are made to bring confidence. Also, all models were wearing masks on the runway, as a way to say that it doesn’t matter what you look like, those clothes are made for everyone.

Smock Me

That was my first time attending a Smock Me show, and I fell in love as soon as the first model walked the runway. The brand calls itself “urban high fashion with a 90’s vibe” and give us mostly pants and jackets with simple cuts that allow us to pay attention to the drawings and colors on the pieces. It has that streetwear vibe that we all love to see and wear to look stylish and cool.

Known for their beautiful, extravant dresses, they went for a more casual collection this time. The show starts with patterned sets and tube dresses with that ‘office chic’ look, and the focus is on the patterns untill we get to the second part of the collection, when we see the dresses we are used to: beautiful, elegant dresses - now the patterns are gone and we can focus on the perfectly cutted designs.

Jonathan Marc Stein Atelier

For this collection we got to see how the designer used the latest fashion trends to make elegant party dresses: lots of them had the focus on the waits and we even got to see a miniskirt dress. Also, the clothes were made with shiny, light fabrics that are useable in both casual and formal situations, depending on the styling. Those are clothes to make your wardrobe efficient, beautiful and elegant – what else could you ask for?

Alien Earth Design

Alien Earth Design is a Fashion brand that describes their pieces as weareable art, so the designs show a lot of personality, even though they hopped on the shiny fabric trend. The outfits are made for partying, for creating memories on a night out, they make you want to dress up and look – and feel – your best, which is just perfect for our going-back-out moment.
