When did your passion for photography start and what were the main milestones that turned you into the artist you currently are?
I always had a passion for photography since I was a young teen. When I first saw the movie Funny Face staring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, I first wanted to be a model, but was later as a young adult had the fire to be behind the camera.
We admire the exquisite level of detail in all your works. Does your creative process start from a certain image in your mind, or do you seek inspiration as you progress?
I envision what I want to capture weeks before my session. I’m inspired by images I see on Pinterest, social media, backgrounds in neighborhoods and movies scenes, old paintings, commercials etc.
Could you share how you expand your vision of art, as a photographer?
I’m not only a photographer, but I’m also a painter, writer and singer and I love to dance. I’m inspired by all forms of art when it comes to my photography. I can watch a dance and see photography; I can watch a singer perform and see photography. I also see photography in old painting.
How has photography influenced you as a person and what do you love most about being a photographer?
Photography influenced me because it represents a moment in time that is recorded for life. It tells the viewer you where there and opens the mind of the viewer to see spaces or environments in a different way. I love being a photographer because you can create a mood, expression, and explore your environment and your mind.
What would be your tips/advice to models looking to expand their portfolio?
If a model wants to expand their portfolio, I suggest these following rules:
1 Be versatile with their style of photography in their portfolio. Vet your photographer before committing to the shoot.
2 Always take care of your health, skin, hair, and body.
3 Come prepare for any shoot. The shoot represents you and if you can’t use the photos, it’s a waste of time.
